Robert Probus
Success Story
Robert Probus, a 67-year-old retiree from Terrell, Texas, enjoys golfing and yard work. Recently, he experienced a hip fracture after his dog accidentally caused him to fall in his home.
After initial treatment, a former patient recommended that Robert receive inpatient rehabilitation at Mesquite Rehabilitation Institute (MRI). Upon being admitted to the hospital, Robert listed his primary goal as being able to walk again without assistive devices. He worked with the interdisciplinary healthcare team who developed an individualized treatment plan to help him reach his goal.
Throughout his treatments, physical therapist, Lindsey, and occupational therapist, Hung, emphasized the importance of safety to prevent future injuries.
“The staff has done a great job with their support and care during my recovery,” he says.
After working with the MRI team, Robert was discharged home, where his two Labradors eagerly awaited him. He remains optimistic about continuing to improve his mobility and function.
