Brenda Snyder

Success Story

Brenda Snyder, a 68-year-old certified nursing assistant from Sikeston, Missouri, enjoys shopping, walking, cooking for her family, and caring for her great-grandchildren.

Recently, Brenda began experiencing persistent headaches. Concerned, she traveled from Missouri to Dallas, Texas, to seek the expertise of specialists. She was diagnosed with a stroke and hypertensive heart issues. After receiving initial care, Brenda’s granddaughter recommended that she continue her recovery at Mesquite Rehabilitation Institute (MRI). “My granddaughter said MRI was the best rehabilitation hospital to be referred to,” she says.

Upon admission to MRI, Brenda’s goals were to regain her strength and independence so she could return to the activities she loves. The interdisciplinary healthcare team worked closely with Brenda to help her reach her goals.

“The staff at MRI provided excellent care,” she says.

Brenda was discharged after 20 days and planned to return to Missouri to visit her primary care physician for further evaluation. “I want to find out the cause of my illness so I can get back to my life,” she says.
