Fifty-six-year-old LaTonya Beasley from Dallas, Texas, is married with three adult children. She enjoys working out and reading. Recently, she fell while getting into the shower and suffered a hip fracture.

After a stay at a local hospital, LaTonya’s physician referred her to Mesquite Rehabilitation Institute (MRI) for inpatient rehabilitation. Her main goal was to walk without any assistive devices.

The interdisciplinary healthcare team at MRI worked with LaTonya in developing an individualized care plan to help her meet her goals. Motivated by her desire to regain independence, LaTonya worked hard during her sessions. Within a few weeks, she was able to walk on her own.

When it was time for LaTonya to return to the memory care facility where she lives, LaTonya’s daughter expressed her appreciation for the care the staff provided to her mother.
